The Duke University Houston Alumni Group joined us at our monthly Saturday Community Service Day on 9/28/19.
On this beautiful and unseasonably warm day, 12 adults with their 5 children helped me immeasurably in the Butterfly Beds and the orchards. Volunteers also assisted George Rejsek, Compost Chairman and WCG President, Betsy Longoria with the Urban Harvest Community Garden plant distribution. They also began work weeding the garden pathway and pavilion.
We also welcomed help from another non-garden volunteer, Jennifer Young, and as always from our WCG members who contribute their time to our community away from their own leased beds.
Volunteers, we want and need you, so please check our calendar for future volunteer opportunities and contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Deanne Dorsa, for more information.
