Our Year-End Fundraiser
Westbury Community Garden is participating in the #SeedMoneyChallenge, a 30-day fundraising challenge and we could really use your support TODAY!
How It Works
In addition to keeping the funds we raise from individuals like you, we have a chance to win a challenge grant of up to $1000 from SeedMoney based on how much we raise over the course of the 30-day period running from Nov 15 to Dec 15.
As an extra incentive, SeedMoney is offering 50 $100 bonus grants to the 50 garden projects that have raised the most after the first week. Your support TODAY can put us into the running for one of those bonus grants.
Improving Accessibility Goals
Our fundraising focus this year is improving accessibility at the garden. The WCG Master Plan includes a new U-shaped driveway encompassing the community garden plots. An extension will run straight across the property from the new entrance near the bus stop to the east fence line. Parking areas are planned along the north, south, and east driveways. The accessibility improvements also include converting some garden plots with nearby parking to plots made for sitting/standing height gardens similar to plot E13. Reducing bending and kneeling and providing nearby parking will be welcome improvements for members with mobility issues.
