Beat the Heat

Despite the health benefits gained through gardening, gardeners are sometimes exposed to risks that could spoil our enjoyment of getting outside and growing our own food.  The June episode of Green Thumb, “Enemies in the Garden”, addressed many of these potential problems in depth.  I highly recommend you watch this video!! Go to the You Tube channel some too-hot afternoon and take a look at these helpful hints, you will be glad you did.

Just to follow up, at WCG, we have a first aid kit in the compost area section with the rakes and wheelbarrows.  You should find everything you need for minor issues. Also, take a look around the garden for charts on how to understand the progression of heat stroke in yourself or others.  Let’s stay safe out there, people!
