April 23 is Earth Day and so is a special WCG Work Day event. We are starting the work day an hour early so we’ll have time to enjoy a special class on planting shade trees at 11 AM. Our guest speaker is Gary O’Neil, forester at CenterPoint Energy. The class is entitled, “Right Tree / Right Place.” At the end of the class there will be drawings for free shade trees from the WCC / WCG Tree Farm.
Also of note, Chik-Fil-A has donated chicken sandwiches for this event and there will be an assortment of potluck sides and desserts. As usual, work day participants eat free. Class participants who don’t work are invited to eat lunch after the class. Donations are accepted.
