Due to competing priorities, the Seasonal Cooking Class has been cancelled. While we love the concept of a cooking and tasting class each season, it seems that October and November have been so busy with other garden events and fundraisers, that the class will have to wait till next season.
We do have a sweet potato taste test that will compare several orange-fleshed potatoes, plus gold, and purple ones. Thanks to Whole Foods Market Bellaire for the produce donation that makes the sweet potato taste test possible. Which tastes best to you? Which will you grow next year?
The potluck social will follow the last Community Service Day for 2024 from 8:00 AM to noon. We plan to eat at 1:00 PM. Bring a veggie of the late summer season like sweet potato, okra, or eggplant or any favorite dish or light bites that you wish to share.
Plan to come out for the work day Saturday morning and then afterwards celebrate the end of the summer heat and the beginning of cool season crops with your garden community.
